3 out of 5 stars Difficult but it works   November 9, 2008
I must agree with reviewer Fish Fan, the clamp section has a square end and the hole on the suction part is round so it makes you scratch your head and wonder what they were thinking, trying to fit a square end into a round hole. After getting pass that design flaw i managed to force the square ends into the round holes, bending the clamps in the process. Thankfully the plastic was flexible enough for me to (carefully) bend it back into shape...it was not easy but i got it done, and guess what? It worked.br /br /One other problem i had was that they were way too big to be discrete, so i had to hide them. I used them before setting up my tank. I was able to run my airlines securely on the bottom of the tank, making sure i keep the tube taut. The trick about this part is that since the suction is so big and keeps the tube so far off the glass that you will need a fairly deep layer of gravel to cover the tubes. For the tubes coming down the side i only used them near the bottom so again i could cover them with gravel (an even thicker layer here). Once the tube is kept taut it makes one smooth line down the tank without having to expose those conspicuos suctions.br /br /Another design flaw with these is that the suction is made from such a thick rubbery plastic. This makes it fairly inflexible and difficult to stick onto the glass. The workmanship is also of concern as some of my suctions had extra rubber at the fringe preventing the suction from seating properly. I had to do a little trimming with the scissors. br /br /The reason i gave it a 3 and not a 1 (like Fish Fan) is because after all the little problems and tweaking, it actually worked.

1 out of 5 stars Poor Design   January 15, 2007
I don't know who signed off on this design, but they need a blindfold, a wall, and a firing squad. The hole in the suction cups is round - as it should be. But the peg on the airline holder is square! Duh!! Trying to put the holder into the suction cup is literally like putting a square peg into a round hole. Extremely poor design indeed! If there was a zero or a negative rating, this product would deserve it.
