 Recommend for kitty, not a small dog... December 14, 2008
I was hoping my 71b dog would like this one because of the heating pad. No such luck, although I never did collapse it down and try it that way. Our cat likes it...thus the name I guess, lol! The extra hole did seem to be an issue at 1st, we went ahead and covered it just because. I do think this was a good purchase.

If you have a cat that always seems to find the paper bag to hide in, or you need to provide a some 'element' protection for that cat on your covered porch (like I do), then this product will work. The advertised heat is pretty minimal, so don't expect it to feel warm to the touch, but I guess anything is better than nothing. It's a cute shape and after a while those cats that like small enclosed places will use it, although it could take a little while and encouragement (put a small food dish in it for a while).
 Ok But Not Her First Choice January 22, 2008
My cat uses this kitty condo occasionally. She prefers her open air heated mat to the enclosed condo for reasons known only to herself. She wouldn't even look at the condo at first, in fact we had to force her in and feed her treats to get her to stay in it long enough for it to warm up. After that she voluntarily went in but it's definitely not her favorite warm spot.br /br /I haven't tried any of the other configurations yet. When you change the shape I think you have to move the heated pad or else the pad is insulated by too much foam to be effective. Overall though - the quality of the materials was good and the heated pad takes up about 1/2 to 3/4 of the condo floor area. It's pricey so, when selecting your cats heated furniture take into account if they like to be enclosed or not. My cat doesn't and I think the condo reminds her of the carrier which we use to take her to the vet.
