Works For Me August 26, 2008 I've ben using this product for years, but if I miss a day or two then I get spots. Its important to use it even when the snow is just melting off your lawn, and late into the fall when you think the lawn is dormant. I crush the pills up with a pestle and mix it with their food otherwise they wouldn't eat it.
grass saver pills March 9, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These were a waste of money. They dogs hated the taste and refused to take them. Would not recommend this product
it really works September 21, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have five cattle dogs, we used the pills on the females last year and finally started to grow grass, this year we gave the pills to all five - we have the greenest yard in the neighborhood. We only give one pill a day and usually skip one or two days within the week. I do recommend this product. Oh - your dog will not just eat it, like the packaging says - so after they eat the pill - I follow it up with a tasty treat.
Side Effects? August 26, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have used this, I would say that it works. My dog is an English Bulldog and he was yellowing the grass bad as a puppy. We started feeding him Grass Saver at the recommendation of our local pet store owner (not Petco!). It works.br /br /The thing is, after giving him the pills he started losing the hair down the middle of his back and having a lot of skin problems. The vet told me he's "oily". I see dry skin flaking off. It's getting worse. After reading a bit online I think he has some skin problems possibly caused by PH balance. So if you give this to your dog watch for these side effects as they are not on the label.br /br /Otherwise, I must give 5 stars because my grass not only stopped yellowing but had time to grow back.
Not Effective June 22, 2005 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I've been using this product for some time now and it has not really helped. I also became a little more educated about the yellowing problem and found out that adjusting the pH level in a dog's urine will not correct yellowing. The problem is a high level of nitrogen. A new product out of Australia called "Dog Rocks" has gotten some good press and may help.
